So, we're starting to work on 1.1, if you don't already know. There's going to be some major changes coming to the whole project.

The first major change will be the fact that we're going to primarily use Persevere for the backend code. This will let us do a lot more in less time, and allow us to use Java classes in our sever-side code. This way we can do things like file conversions for office documents. Later, we will write PHP backends, however, they will not offer the same feature-set as the Persevere backends later on down the road.

We're going to be revamping the UI, offering two new ways to use Lucid. One will be a dashboard-type UI that will use separate browser windows/tabs for each application. There will also be a mobile phone UI that will let you access Lucid apps from iPhones, Android-powered phones, etc.

What else would you like to see in 1.1?

So my ideas would be

Features 1.1 Office Document Support

Build In Mail Client

ONE language File (currently same words are used in different Apps and you have to translate it everytime again)

More User settings can be given by root (like diskspace for each user individual, some apps only for some user avaiable)

Maybe some sort of Shopsystem eg. More diskspace to buy or you can buy apps

Features 1.2 and later

More organised folderstructure

PS: The german translation is currently in waiting stage... sry but work comes first

We may not be able to do this in 1.1, but we'll definitely do this in the next version.

Yeah, this shouldn't be too hard. We were planning on doing this earlier, but ran into some problems with PHP. It should be easier to do in Persevere, though.

We do provide a translation file that has common words such as "Close", "Exit", "Open", etc. I suppose there are some words we could add to that file, though.

Yeah, I've set up the database schema of 1.1 so that you can have per-user applications. We're still trying to figure out how to do permissions in Persevere though, that may take a while to figure out.

We could definitely do something like a store management thing, the only thing is that nobody on the team is all that familiar with e-commerce applications, so we're not sure how to do something like that. Maybe later on down the road, but that's definitely a good idea.

What do you mean by this? Oh, we should totally make some sort of search functionality for the filesystem, that would be awesome.

That's fine, I haven't been able to work on Lucid much due to school, but that'll change in a week or two :D

Maybe it would be an idea if you can buy apps with points which the root can give you. And then you'd have to buy this points.

Hmm, I suppose that could work. It still wouldn't be implemented until we get our act together though.

Any other ideas?

hmm maybe you could change the intern browser to work as a proxy... cause like its now its quiet useless... An other idea would be some sort of encryptool for documents.

NoAimKiller: To answer your question in IRC, yes, 1.0 apps should be fully compatible with 1.1.

Ok thx for the answer. I'm not sure if I posted this idea already but it would be a great feature if Dokuments from the Build-In Webbrowser could be saved directly to Lucid... I am currently not sure if this is impleted already and I don't realy have time to try now but...
