Dojo has an excellent reputation on the ajax dev, and many organizations use dojo to build projects, but as a open source toolket, dojo dont have heavyweight demos/apps, dojo need a influential application to show dojo's usage and advantage. But this is not the whole story, we( the users, the developers, the web service providers) need a desktop. Now I want to say what I need for a web destop platform: 1 Robust engine to show apps to the client. This engine give the neccesary resource to the client, efficiently and do some pre-load, to make the end-users have smooth experience on the browser desktop.(End Users) 2 Robust engine to manage apps for the users. Users can install and select apps to show on his desktop.(End Users) 3 Robust engine to manage apps/plugs and users for the administrator. (Admins) 4 Robust engine to develop admin modules and apps for the developers. (Developers) 5 One or some beautiful and familiar desktop style for end users to select. Vista, Fedora, MacOS. (End Users) 6 Some typical apps: word, presentation, message. (Devs and End Users) 7 Some addtional key libs to build apps: file upload/download, sound and vedio, javascript streaming? based on dojo.

That's not all.........

Yeah, we understand that Lucid is sort of like Dojo's flagship application, and really demonstrates what you can do with Dojo. We need to really overhaul 2.0 so that it's really impressive, and can show off what you can do with Dojo foundation projects.

We're going to make 2.0 the coolest thing ever.
